In the past 15 years she headed the public relations and investor relations departments for a number of national and international companies across various industry sectors involving retail, industrial, professional services, legal and mining.
Working in the delivery of both proactive and reactive media and developing the solid foundations of a company’s public image, delivering brand recognition and brand protection. Specifically, Yolanda works to pitch her clients at the forefront of their service and product delivery.

Yolanda began her working career as a journalist working at various daily regional and metropolitan newspapers across Australia. In 2000 she established her own public relations company, Altitude Media, providing company and investor relations services to the mining industry.
Although specialising in mining industry communications, events and public relations, Yolanda’s outstanding written and verbal communication skills, her ability to develop and cultivate relationships and her unrivalled passion have seen her utilising her experience and talents across many industries.
Yolanda’s experience in the mining industry spans 25 years and spreads across multiple disciplines including working directly in mining media publishing, business development, client engagement, investor and community relations with mining companies in Australia, Asia and Africa to developing the only bilingual (English and Chinese) mining industry publication for the Asia-Pacific mining industry.
In 2008 Yolanda established ASIA’s Resource Connections, a mining equipment procurement business which has turned over $30 million of orders from China’s qualified mining equipment manufacturers to Australian, African and Asian mining operations. Yolanda identified Africa mining developments as the new mining frontier for global mining investment and in 2010 set up The African Mining Network which brings together the African continent’s mining industry with a regular networking event, industry workshops, investor pitches and a weekly news service.
Her written and verbal communication and the ability to develop and cultivate relationships across Australia, Asia and Africa, with mining companies, suppliers and investors, has led her to achieve success and industry respect within the global mining industry and in 2013 was named a finalist in the Australian Mining magazine Mining Woman of the Year category and in 2014 third overall in the People’s Choice voting category of the Australian Mining magazine Industry Awards.
Outside mining, during 2003-2004 Yolanda co-authored the successful food book Flavours of The Four Seasons – a producer to plate food and recipe book. She also hosted the highly rating Tempting the Tastebuds and Aromas Over the Airwaves programs for ABC Radio for 14 years.
